Description
Sankatahara Chaturthi (సంకటహర చతుర్థి) is a Hindu observance dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the deity known for removing obstacles. It is observed every lunar month on the fourth day of the waning moon phase, also known as Krishna Paksha Chaturthi. ‘Sankatahara’ translates to ‘remover of sorrows’, thus on this day, devotees seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings to remove difficulties and sorrows from their lives.
Devotees often observe a fast, offer prayers, and chant mantras dedicated to Lord Ganesha. A special ritual known as the ‘Ganesha Puja’ is also performed. Observing this auspicious day is believed to bring prosperity, happiness, and success, and to alleviate the troubles and hardships in one’s life.
